Courses Avaiable7300 Introduction to World Agricultural Science and Technology - 1/2 Credit This comprehensive basic course designed to introduce beginning students to global agriculture. The course includes agricultural career development, leadership, communications, and personal finance. FFA is the youth leadership club affiliation. 7305 Applied Agricultural Science and Technology - 1/2 Credit This comprehensive basic applied course designed to enhance the agricultural comprehension of the beginning students. The course includes soils, plants, animals, agricultural construction, food science, supervised occupational experience programs, and leadership. FFA is the youth leadership club affiliation. 7310 Introduction To Agriculture Mechanics - 1/2 Credit This is an exploratory course designed to familiarize the student with basic theory and specialized skills. Skills will be developed in the areas of tool identification and safe use, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, masonry, fencing, painting, metalworking, and welding processes. Students will be required to purchase supplies for personal projects. 7315 Home Maintenance and Improvement - 1/2 Credit This is an exploratory course is designed to prepare students to improve and maintain urban or rural homes and adjacent buildings. students will analyze repair needs, learn approved safety techniques explore career opportunities and develop leadership. Students will be required to purchase supplies for personal projects. 7320 Plant And Animal Production - 1/2 Credit 7330 Introduction To Horticultural Sciences - 1/2 Credit This exploratory course designed to introduce students to horticultural sciences with the emphasis on technical skills, entrepreneurship, and occupational opportunities. 7335 Agricultural Metal Fabrication Technology - 1/2 Credit This technical course to develop skills in mental equipment assembly and joining processes. Students will be required to purchase supplies for personal projects. 7340 Animal Science - 1/2 Credit This technical course designed to develop knowledge and skills pertaining to the nutrition, reproduction, health, and management of domestic animals. 7345 Equine Science - 1/2 Credit This technical course is designed to develop knowledge and skills pertaining to the selection, nutrition, reproduction, health, and management of horses. 7350 Landscape Design, Construction, And Maintenance - 1/2 Credit This technical course which prepares students to design, construct, and maintain planted are and devices for the beautification of home grounds and other areas of human habitation and recreation. Students will be required to purchase supplies for projects. 7355 Floral Design & Interior Landscape Development - 1/2 Credit This technical course that prepares students to design and arrange flowers, foliage, and related plant materials for interior locations. Students will be required to purchase supplies for projects. 7360 Wildlife And Recreation Management - 1/2 Credit This technical course is designed to examine areas of wildlife management, hunter safety, policies, laws, and administration of wild life management, identification of wildlife and fish, identification of ecological concepts, state and federal policies concerning recreation, wildlife careers, and leadership-related activities. Students will be required to pay hunter safety fees. 7375 Agribusiness Management And Marketing - 1/2 Credit This technical course designed to introduce the student to agribusiness management in the free enterprise system. It includes a study of economic principles, budgeting, record keeping, finance, risk management, business law, marketing and careers in agribusiness. 7380 Exploring Aquaculture - 1/2 Credit This course designed to provide the student with a clear understanding scope of aquaculture and the existing career opportunities. A study of aquatic plants and animals, water management, production techniques, and management and marketing skills provide a thorough basis for future students. This material provides the student with individual topics in aquaculture curriculum guide developed by the National Council for Agricultural Education. 7385 Aquaculture Production - 1 Credit This laboratory-orientated course is designed to introduce the concepts and skills related to the production of aquaculture crops. The course emphasizes the study and development of skills in the importance of aquaculture, safety practices related to aquaculture, classification and identification of plant and animal aquatical species, determination of optimum growth and health of species specific aquacrops, analysis of water quality, planning and designing aquacultural facilities, harvesting of aquacrops, processing of species, specific aquacrops, and the marketing of aquacultural products. Instruction will include information on career opportunities, leadership activities, and record keeping practices related to the industry. 7385 Aquaculture Science And Technology Independent Study - 1/2 Credit This course is a project based learning experience developed by a student or group of students, teacher and an interdisciplinary mentor team. The project provides opportunities for an in-depth study of at least one aspect of the agricultural science and technology area. The student or group demonstrates the ability to utilize a variety of resources, advanced technology, and communication skills in the development and presentation of the project. This project can meet the Distinguished Achievement Program requirements for advanced measures. 7390 Horticultural Plant Production - 1/2 Credit This technical course is designed to develop knowledge and skills related to the management and production of the greenhouse and nursery crops. 7405 Advanced Floral Design - 1/2 Credit This is a technical course designed to examine the floral design in relation to contemporary designs, business practices, specialty items and careers in the floral industry. Students will be required to purchase supplies for projects. 7410 Range Management and Ecology - 1/2 Credit This is a technical course designed to familiarize you with the management and ecological aspects of rangeland. Students study and develop technical skills on renewable natural resources, range plants, ecosystems, water cycles, range conditions, carrying capacities, live stock management, wildlife management and research. In addition, students expand their knowledge of safe work practices, record 0keeping, career exploration and leadership. |
