Or, if you need to, please press CTRL+F Courses Avaiable7700 Communication Systems (General Drafting) - 1 Credit This exploratory course focuses on communication systems humans use to compose, send, receive, and interpret information and ideas. The emphasis is on visual and electronic communication technologies. Students will explore the types of work performed in the communications industries. Experiences may include technical sketching; computer-aided drafting, graphics design and reproduction, desktop publishing, photography and others will be studied. 7305 Applied Agricultural Science and Technology - 1/2Credit This comprehensive basic applied course designed to enhance the agricultural comprehension of the beginning students. The course includes soils, plants, animals, agricultural construction, food science, supervised occupational experience programs, and leadership. FFA is the youth leadership club affiliation. 7705 Engineering Graphics (Technical Drawing) - 1 Credit This is a technical course in lettering engineering geometry, multiview drawings, sectioning pictorial representation, dimensioning, and detail and assembly drawings, reproduction of drawings and selection equipment and supplies. 7710 Architectural Graphics (Architectural Drawing) - 1 Credit This is a technical course in principles of residential design, architectural styles, and construction practices. Activities focus on the development of original working drawings, presentation drawings, and model building. 7715 Energy, Power and Transportation Systems - 1 Credit This exploratory course provides experiences in energy, power, and transportation technologies and how they are utilized to serve the needs and wants of society. Students will study the characteristics, availability, conversion, control transmission, and storage of energy and power. Principles of radiant, electrical, fluid, and mechanical power; and land, air, sea, and space transportation are studied. Environmental issues are also discussed. 7720 Manufacturing Systems, (Woodworking) - 1 Credit This exploratory course addresses the knowledge and skills important in construction technology. Students study common manufacturing tools, machines, materials and processes in a laboratory setting. 7725 Manufacturing Technology (Advanced Woodworking) - 1/2 - 1 Credit A technical course which enhances the understanding of various metallic and non metallic materials, processes, and products. Materials studied may include polymers, ceramics, woods, composites, and metals. Experiences include safety and instruction of tools and machines associated with manufacturing. Mathematical and scientific concepts are stressed as students study various processes used for transforming materials into products. Students study the design of products, quality control, design of production tooling, machine tool setups, and manufacturing systems. 7730 Technology Systems - 1 Credit This overview course is designed to introduce the application of technology to solve problems and meet human needs and wants. Laboratory experiences are focused on the technology systems of bio-related technology; communication; computer applications; construction; energy, power, transportation; and manufacturing. Students will study concepts about technological systems and the influences these systems have at home, in communications, and at work. Content includes, but is not limited to, the study of systems of technology, application of technology, design/problem solving, evolving technologies, safety, maintenance, entrepreneurship, leadership, careers, and marketing. This course will count for one (1) credit of Computer Science, if course is taught in a computer based module lab setting 7735 Drafting - 1 Credit 7740 Woodworking - 1 Credit 7745 Technology Systems II - 1 Credit This activity-based course is designed to provide an opportunity for research and developmental activities in any one or more of the technology areas of communication, energy, transportation, manufacturing and production. A student or small group of students is able to pursue creatively new knowledge and solve technological/industrial problems. Students engage in research, data collection, problem solving, designing, developing prototypes, and making working models. 7750 Problems and Solutions in Technology - 1/2 - 1 Credit This research activity course allows students to develop advanced technical knowledge and skills in solving problems in one or more of the technology systems of communication; computer applications; construction, energy, power, and transportation; and manufacturing. This activity meets one of the Distinguished Achievement Program measures. |
