The members of the Lewisville High School FBLA Chapter recently headed up a community
wide book drive in partnership with Barns and Noble, Half Price Books, and Lewisville
High School. The books collected went to benefit the local Christian Community Action
(CCA) and the children of the Clayton Youth Services at Keller Harvell Elementary School
in Keller ISD. The book drive raised approximately 300 books, half of which went to CCA
while the other half went to conduct a mock book fair at Keller Harvell. The FBLA students
setup a book fair within the school and the children were provided with $5 in play money.
They were then allowed to select books and make purchases using their play money. The
children and FBLA alike really had a good time and important lessons in money
management and project management were learned.
