JSA Officers
Sponsor-Mr. Darren Ryan
Mr. Ryan is a graduate of the University of North Texas. He holds Bachelors degrees in Education and Political Science, as well as a Masters degree in Secondary Education. Mr. Ryan became the first sponsor of JSA in 2002, when student Aaron Berns brought the idea to campus after a summer JSA convention in California. Mr. Ryan believes that JSA should continue to be a student-run organization that pursues a free and open discussion of political and social ideas. Our sponsor teaches AP US History and AP Psychology here at LHS, and has been teaching social studies courses for 19 years.
- President: Jamie Boyle (12th grade)
Jamie Boyle is the current president of the Lewisville chapter of JSA. She is a senior at Lewisville High School and has been in JSA for all four years. She discovered JSA because her sister was the president when Jamie was a freshman. Jamie is the first student from LHS to be a member of the JSA state cabinet. When she graduates from high school, she plans on attending the University of Texas and majoring in history. Jamie hopes to join the Peace Corps and then continue her education. Her dream job is historical preservation of buildings.
Jamie also enjoys long walks on the beach and horseback riding at sunset. : )
- Vice President: Thao Pham (12th grade)
- Thao is currently a senior at LHS. Born in Vietnam, she has lived in the
United States since she was three and has attended LIDS schools since fifth
grade. She enjoys Tae Kwon Do and tennis. She is moderatly conservative
and has not current favorites in the upcoming presidental election.
- Secretary: Robert Aguilar (12th grade)
Robert is currently a member of the LHS band and that occupies much of his
time. When he is not in band, he participates in the Herpso and Robotics
clubs. Robert has been in integral member of JSA.
- Treasurer: Candice Bernd (12th grade)
Candice is interested in music and politics. She is an active member of
JSA, but also enjoys playing the guitar and protesting!
