Several LHS students are ready to compete as the 2007-08 year unfolds. Students will have twenty-five opportunities to travel to Metroplex interscholastic Texas Forensic Association contests, represent LHS at “community speech contests” such as the VFW Voice of Democracy speech contest, the Lions’ Club’s Drug Awareness Speech Contest and Diabetes’ Awareness Essay Contest, the Rotary Club’s Four-Way Speech Contest, UIL Speaking Contests (Prose and Poetry Interpretation, Informative and Persuasive Speaking, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Current Issues and Events), the American Legion High School Oratorical contests, and the National Forensic League’s national qualifying rounds of Individual Events, Debate, and Student Congress.
