Services for Students

1. Checkouts
You must have your ID or schedule to check out materials.
Students may check out the following items:
Fiction and Nonfiction books
Calculators
Playaways (coming soon)
You may have 3 items at a time, for two weeks. You may renew items once. Exceptions are for materials from class book carts, which are checked out overnight.
Charges for overdue items are:
Regular materials—15 cents per school day
Overnight materials-- $1.00 per period

2. Computers for quiet individual use
(please note no computer use after school Fridays). Computers are available for personal use before and after school, space permitting. Priority will be given to those working on school work. Computers are to be used for educational purposes from 8:45-4:05.

Printing Word documents or web pages—free in black and white for school assignments. 15 page max. More than 15 pages or personal printing is 5 cents per page.
Printing Power point slides or multiple graphics (pictures) —Print slides 6 per page; cut and paste graphics or pictures into a word document, several on each page.
Color printing is available for class assignments with teacher note only.

3. Copies
unlimited number, 10 cents each. Bring materials to the front desk; librarians will make copies and change.

4. Supply store
The following items are on sale at the front desk. New items may be added upon request. Ask for something to be added if you don’t see it here.
Pencils— 25 cents
Pens—50 cents
Note cards—10 cents for 10
Computer disks-- $1.00 for new, 50 cents for reformatted
Poster board-- .75 per sheet

Expected Behavior
• Show respect for others
• Show respect for library materials
• Use computers responsibly
• Leave food, gum, and drink outside the library (Do you want to scrape gum off the furniture and books? Or pay to replace a computer because you spilled a bottle of water? Plus, food and wrappers left on the shelves draws ants!)

The Tayshas Books are the “best of the best” for high school students in Texas. The word Tayshas is the Caddo Indian word for “friends or allies.”
