EXEMPTIONS- (Final Exam exemption policy)

Second Nine-weeks of Spring Term only

Requirements:

 

SENIORS IN NON-AP CLASSES

 

Attendance is calculated for each class period for 18 weeks. Grade averages are for the final 9 weeks.

 

To be exempt a student must have:

 

Grade average of 90 with no more than 2 absences, or

Grade average of 85 with no more than 1 absence, or

Grade average of 80 with no absences.

 

No unexcused absences

 

All absences count toward the exemption status, except for school related absences. Three tardies equal one absence.

Exempt Seniors will be able to take exams if they so choose.

 

ALL STUDENTS IN ADVANCED PLACEMENT CLASSES

 

Grade averages are for the final 9 weeks.

 

To be exempt a student must take the AP EXAM FOR THE CLASS IN WHICH THE STUDENT IS ENROLLED.

 

Students who take the AP exam and have an 85 or better average in the second nine-weeks for the AP class are exempt from

the exam.

 

Seniors only that DID NOT take the AP exam and have an 85 or better average and meet the criteria for LISD exemption policy

may be exempt.

 

Exempted students in AP classes will be able to take exams if they so choose.
