Health Services

The School Nurse is a licensed nurse who is responsible for each student's health status and to aid the student in obtaining optimum physical and mental health status and to aid the student in obtaining optimum physical and mental health. Some of her duties include the following:

Students who become ill or injured during the school day should report to their teacher and the teacher will issue a Hall Pass to the Health office. The personnel in the office can administer ONLY minor first aid. NO MEDICATION CAN BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS STUDENTS MAY REMAIN IN THE HEALTH OFFICE FOR A MAXIMUM OF ONE PERIOD AFTER WHICH HE/SHE WILL BE REQUIRED TO RETURN TO CLASSES OR GO HOME. If the student requires medical attention or needs to go home, the parent/guardian will be notified. The student can only be released to the parent/guardian will be notified. The student can only be released to the parent/guardian or the adult designee of the parent/guardian. An up-to-date emergency card must be on file in the Health Office for every student.
