Parking and Transportation

All cars parked on school property or within statutory boundaries designed as being under control of the school are subject to school policies and regulations which include the right to search for prohibited and/or dangerous substances, weapons and/or anything that presents a clear and present danger to the safety and welfare of students and staff.

  1. The driveway, median in front of the high school, eastside rows 1, 2, & 3, and parking lot in the front of the high school are faculty members, official business and patrons of the school. STUDENTS MAY NOT PARK IN THESE AREAS AT ANY TIME. ONLY CARS BEARING FACULTY PERMITS MAY PARK HERE. Others will be towed away at owner's expense.
  2. The student status parking lot is located on the east and northeast sides of the high school. Vocational Coop students are required to park in the parking area to the north of the football field. Non-coop students are to park in the parking area east of the school building. Student parking will be assigned by grade level: seniors, first; juniors, second; sophomores, third. Freshman students are not allowed parking privileges. Cars not authorized to park in these areas will be towed away at the owners expense.
  3. To better protect student property, once a vehicle has been driven onto campus, it should be parked and locked. Students may not sit in cars parked at school or loiter around then at any time during the school day, including lunch. Further, car radios and tape players should not be played at a volume that can be heard outside the vehicle once that vehicle comes on campus.
  4. No students may be on the parking lot during class time including lunch without a pass signed by a principal, authorizing his/her presence.

  7. All vehicles will require parking permits. Vehicles without permits may be towed away at the student or parent expense. The permit should be affixed inside the lower left corner of the front windshield.
  8. If a student drives a car on an occasional or emergency basis, the student must get a Temporary Permit in the Main office and place in on the dashboard in front of the steering wheel or rearview mirror.
  9. Students must obtain a pass from the attendance office to leave campus in a vehicle during the school day unless the vehicle bears a DJCC or a Vocational Status parking permit and the student's ID indicated the student is eligible to leave at that time.
  10. Students may apply for student status parking permits in the main office. Parking decals are $2.00 each.
  11. Cars are towed at owner's expense. Warnings are present here in the rules and on the parking permit form. No other warning will be issued.

Permit Categories are:

Vocational CO-OP Status (grades 11-12): Valid during the designated time on the student's ID card for work experience whether as a part of a vocational CO-OP program or with special principal approval. This permit allows the driver to park his/her vehicle on school property in the spaces designated student parking.

Student Status (grades 10-12): Valid during the school day. This permit allows the driver to park his/her vehicle on school property in the spaces designated student parking.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION BEING BROUGHT AGAINST THEN. ANY STUDENT WHO VIOLATES THESES PROCEDURES AND REGULATIONS MAY BE GUILTY OF INSUBORDINATION AND DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY. VIOLATIONS WILL/CAN RESULT IN REMOVAL OF PARKING PRIVILEGES ON THE LHS CAMPUS.
