A genuine effort is made to schedule students for the courses requested. When this is done, it is felt that students have a moral obligation to keep the classes they requested and scheduled. Teachers are hired and assignments are made on the basis of these requests and, therefore, only under extenuating circumstances will a change be made when a student has scheduled a course. Under no circumstances will a change be made after 3 school days of a quarter have gone by unless approved by the principal. Dropping course and not taking alternative courses is not permitted. Ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students must maintain 4 credit hours per school day per quarter. Students who need a schedule change should make a request for a schedule change through the counselor's office before or after school. Requests for changes must be made on the appropriate form, filled out fully and signed by student and parent/guardian before they will be considered. Students will be sent a revised schedule if approved. If denied, student will receive change request with denial signed by counselor and/or principal. If there is a direct scheduling conflict, the counselor will send for the student for a conference to resolve the conflict. Students may not report to a counselor for schedule changes without an appointment.
